La Boussole is a partner of RésoSanté Colombie-Britannique and its Fais moi un dessin project.
The aim: to understand the reasons for the reluctance of the most isolated French speakers to be vaccinated against COVID-19, and to produce appropriate documentation to facilitate their access to information.
To support this initiative and facilitate deployment of the project within our community, two part-time community coordinators have been appointed. Lou-Anne Brocard and Elody Croullebois - in addition to their respective roles as social worker and communications manager - are now responsible for recruiting, training and supporting peer workers among La Boussole members.
Peer interveners are French-speaking, vaccinated people whose mission is to interview members of their entourage who have not yet taken the vaccination plunge. Using a questionnaire, they gather valuable, qualitative data to help us understand the reasons behind the refusal of non-vaccinated people.
To date, 8 people have been trained for this task, and some 30 interviews have been conducted.
The data collected will be analyzed by the project team, and a team of designers commissioned by RésoSanté Colombie-Britannique will work on content specifically designed to help French-speaking people make the best decision for themselves and their protection.
