Gilberte Knapp was born in Chauvin, Alberta. She left her native village for Maillardville in 1938, where she has lived ever since.
Gilberte is very active, spending her days keeping her house in order, sewing or knitting, playing cards on the computer...
She first heard about La Boussole when Joanne Dumas, General and Artistic Director of the Société francophone de Maillardville, asked her to make tourtières and sugar pies for La Boussole 10 years ago!
