We've got a lot going on in June, which is a very thematic month, being both Aboriginal History Month and 2SLGBTQIA+ Pride Month. We're taking part in both movements, with a dedicated episode of our podcast talking about aboriginal communities on the one hand, and an event on June 11 in partnership with the Comité Francoqueer de l'Ouest on the other. In this workshop, participants will learn words and definitions through interactive activities and hear the experiences of French-speaking 2SLGBTQIA+ people.
Internally at La Boussole, it's busy too! First of all, there's St. Jean-Baptiste Day, a landmark celebration for us every year. Once again in 2024, we plan to meet up with many of you at Strathcona Park on Monday 24th from 3pm to 6pm! On the program: games, laughter, poutine and lots of fun!
But this year, we've got something new for June, as our organization becomes one of the officially registered charities for the Vancouver Half Marathon for the very first time! This status allows us to field a team of runners whose goal is to raise funds for the organization!
We're also looking forward to July and our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the 11th of next month!
