July at La Boussole

July at La Boussole

The month of July kicks off with Canada's National Day, July 1, the country's biggest birthday party.

During this month and for the second time in a row, we will be hosting a workshop led by EcoNova thanks to the Soutien Au Tissu Associatif des Français à l'Etranger (STAFE) program. The theme this time will be supra-recycling, to learn how to limit our impact on the environment.

July will mark a turning point for our Ensemble eco-solidarity thrift shop. Indeed, after several months of work, training and photo shoots, we are happy to announce that our online sales site will see the light of day!

We'll also be lucky enough to have a representative from the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction on hand for our members.

On July 27, we'll be hosting a workshop to raise awareness of the issues facing the Downtown Eastside. Learn more about homelessness, mental health and the opioid crisis in Vancouver.

And last but not least, we'll be closing the month of July with a JAM afternoon. Taking place on Friday, July 28, this musical get-together will be an opportunity for everyone to share their talents in a convivial atmosphere (more information to come).
