To begin with, we'd like to wish you a very happy New Year, filled with as many good things as possible. In today's often difficult environment, goodwill, mutual aid and benevolence will be even more important than usual.
At the center, we intend to start this year in the same way as we ended the last: surrounded by our members, in a convivial atmosphere and with a smile on our faces. I'm of course referring to our end-of-year holiday meal, which in 2023 was once again a resounding success, thanks to the presence of our members and partners, but above all to the mobilization of the team and all the volunteers who made the evening possible. Many, many thanks.
In the same spirit, we're working with RésoSanté to offer another free ephemeral clinic in January, following on from the one held in December. It will take place at our premises at 312 Main, on January 25, from 1pm to 4pm.
January also saw the return of our Downtown Eastside on the issues facing the Downtown Eastside on Wednesday the 10th, an opportunity for those wishing to find out more and deconstruct certain prejudices.
One activity we really want to highlight this month is the plastic fresco which questions the way our consumption system works. For those who have already done or are interested in the climate fresco, this is a great opportunity to delve deeper into the subject.
Workshops for cosmetics and household products (come and make your own multi-purpose body butter) and the dietary, culinary and economic workshops will continue to be offered thanks to funding from Soutien au Tissu Associatif des Français de l'Étranger (STAFE) with the support of the Consulate General of France in Vancouver.
A project close to our hearts, Ensemble's private sales are back for a second edition on the 24th, following the success of the first. Reserved for our members, it's not too late to pick up your $2 membership of $2 for the fiscal year.
Last but not least, our classics will also be on the agenda this month, with our usual computer workshops, stretching, group art therapy and English classes.
Finally, we would like to end this article by inviting you to complete the the questionnaire from our partner Réseau-Femmes British Columbia, in addition to the 10 gift cards to be won, this valuable information will be used to provide better services to people in precarious legal situations and/or victims of domestic violence.
Once again, happy New Year 2024 and see you soon at La Boussole!
