La Boussole is a non-profit organization acting as a community and social center located in Vancouver that caters to Francophones in need. Through the provision of Francophone social and community programs and, La Boussole strives to meet the needs of its members and to facilitate social integration. La Boussole is the only Francophone non-profit organization with this mission based in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver


The Francophone community center La Boussole offers many opportunities to speak in French and stay in touch with Francophones from all walks of life. We also offer support with administrative procedures and to receive social services in English. Our social worker is at the disposal for anyone who is in need.

La Boussole supports you in your job search by offering you individual and personalized follow-ups through the Hastings and VCC WorkBC centers. Our consultant will help you for free in your job search, networking and training.

Workshops are offered as a supplement to learn how to write a resume and cover letter, as well as other professional training programs. 



In addition to its translation services and individual support for medical appointments, La Boussole offers training on Naloxone and overdose prevention, and direct services to the community. As part of its "Words to Say, Space to Talk" project in British Columbia, La Boussole also offers mental health awareness workshops to youth and families.

Since 2018, La Boussole has committed to taking action to combat global warming and protect the environment in a sustainable way. The team of La Boussole is developing a social enterprise project linking its social vocation to help the poorest Francophones and the protection of the environment. To support our work, La Boussole members are invited to join in two ways: volunteering at the Queen Alexandra School Community Garden on Wednesday afternoon or simply completing our online survey.
